On a Competitive Selection Problem

چکیده
We consider the problem in which n items arrive to a market sequentially over time, where two agents compete choose best possible item. When an agent selects item, he leaves and obtains payoff given by value of is represented random variable following known distribution with support contained [0,1]. different settings for this problem. In first one, namely competitive selection no recall, observe each item upon its arrival decide whether accept or reject it, case they will not select it future. second setting, called are allowed any available arrived so far. For these problems, we describe game induced as sequential imperfect information study set subgame-perfect Nash equilibrium payoffs. We also efficiency equilibria. More specifically, address question how much better have power getting against take-it-or-leave-it fashion. To end, define price anarchy stability instance ratio between maximal sum payoffs obtained players under feasible strategy worst equilibrium, respectively. For recall case, prove that if there arriving both upper bounded constant 4/3 distribution. Even more, show bound tight.

Correlated Equilibria in Competitive Staff Selection Problem
This paper deals with an extension of the concept of correlated strategies to Markov stopping games. The Nash equilibrium approach to solving nonzero-sum stopping games may give multiple solutions. An arbitrator can suggest to each player the decision to be applied at each stage based on a joint distribution over the players’ decisions. This is a form of equilibrium selection. Examples of corre...
متن کاملOn a Competitive Secretary Problem
Consider a scenario in which there are multiple employers competing to hire the best possible employee. How does the competition between the employers affect their hiring strategies or their ability to hire one of the best possible candidates? In this paper, we address this question by studying a generalization of the classical secretary problem from optimal stopping theory: a set of ranked emp...
متن کاملSequential Competitive Facility Location Problem in a Discrete Planar Space
In this paper, there are two competitors in a planar market. The first competitor, called, the leader, opens new facilities. After that, the second competitor, the follower, reacts to the leader’s action and opens r new facilities. The leader and the follower have got some facilities in advance in this market. The optimal locations for leader and follower are chosen among predefined candida...

This paper represents a complete survey on Generation Companies’ (GenCos’) optimal bidding strategy problem in restructured power markets. In this regard after an introduction to competitive electricity markets, concept of optimal bidding strategy is presented. Considering large amount of works accomplished in this area a novel classification is implemented in order to categorize the existing d...
متن کاملA New Competitive Approach on Multi-Objective Periodic Vehicle Routing Problem
This paper presents a novel multi-objective mathematical model of a periodic vehicle routing problem (PVRP) in a competitive situation for obtaining more sales. In such a situation, the reaching time to customers affects the sale amount therefore, distributors intend to service customers earlier than other rivals for obtaining the maximum sale. Moreover, a partial driver’s benefit is related...
